Among the three projects begun in FY 2021, the "New Industrial Policy" searches for solutions to achieve national security and restore Japan's competitiveness, while the "Rules-based International Economic System" investigates ways to achieve reform of the international economic system from a power-based one to rules-based one. The last of the research projects begun in FY 2021 is the "Roadmap of US-Japan-China Relations", which looks for a well-balanced solution for Japan among the issues of national security, foreign policy and economic relations against the background of the intensified US-China confrontation, will be continued as well in FY 2022.
